Dog Hilariously Fights Off Sleep in Case She Misses Second Walk on Beach
Even the most high-energy dog needs to take a break sometimes, but one spaniel was trying her best not to give in to tiredness as she seemingly hoped for a second walk.
Daisy, a cocker spaniel, lives in the U.K. with her owners, Lucy Jenks and Joe Keightley, who recently renovated a camper van to go on weekend adventures.
A recent trip to the beach left Daisy so exhausted she was practically asleep on her feet. As Jenks told Newsweek, she was "trying to fight through the tiredness, thinking she would miss her next beach visit if she let the nap win."

Jenks shared a video recording of the moment to TikTok under the handle @lucyhannahx0x on August 3. It has amassed more than 400,000 views and 61,000 likes.
The clip shows Daisy, wrapped in a blanket outside and clearly falling asleep while standing up, swaying from side to side. But each time her head begins to nod, she wakes up, determined to keep the adventure going.
Jenks wrote in the video's text overlay, "When you're on your holidays, just got back from an 8 mile beach walk with a tummy full of chippy sausage but you can't sleep incase you miss your second beach walk of the day."
"Its a hard life," she added in the caption.

Speaking to Newsweek, Jenks said they had walked almost 9 miles along the north Wales beach, with Daisy also playing in the water. She added that they "actually had to pick her up and carry her off the beach as she didn't want to leave."
"We don't live near the coast, so when she gets to visit, she loves it," the health administrator continued. "She is a very high-energy dog, being a spaniel, and doesn't stop and can go for hours and hours."
After stopping for food and returning to the van for a rest, the owners "wrapped her in her towel, where she then waited sitting up to be taken back to the beach."

"She kept falling to the side when the tiredness got too much, but she'd then soon wake to try and show us she was, in fact, not tired, and ready to go," Jenks continued.
Eventually, Daisy gave in to the nap, Jenks said, adding, "But once we stood up, she jumped up thinking it was time to go again. At that point, we gave in and headed for the second beach visit of the day."
TikTok users loved the clip, with hundreds commenting on Jenks' video and one describing Daisy as a "well loved and cared for baby."
Others shared stories of their own high-energy spaniels, with one saying: "Omg you activated spaniel sleepy mode? That's impressive!"
"This was our springer the other day," another added.
A user wrote: "You've achieved mission impossible. I've never seen a spaniel this tired even on their death beds they are crazy."
Cocker spaniels are popular family pets thanks to their affectionate nature and being good with young children and other dogs, according to the American Kennel Club.
But they're also known for their high energy and athleticism, as they were initially bred as hunting dogs. In 2023, they were 30th on the AKC's list of the most popular dog breeds in the U.S.
Jenks, who got Daisy in March 2023, described her as "such a bubbly, loving dog" who "absolutely adores a cuddle on the sofa with her belly rub."
"Her favorite toy is a tennis ball. She could play for hours," Jenks added. "She is the sweetest girl who just wants to be friends with everyone, dog or human."
