Owner Feels 'The Betrayal' After Cat Ditches Her for Neighbor's Chicken
An owner's shocking discovery of where she found her cat has left internet viewers in stitches.
With over 2.7 million views, the TikTok video posted by user @enzothebsh showed users that this cat sold out his owner for a new home. It's not that Enzo's owner didn't provide him with love, attention and, of course, food. The cat instead saw the neighbor offered gold: chicken.
The owner realized this after spotting Enzo in the window. She would have thought that, after all their time together and the cat being born in her hands, their relationship would have meant more. However, once chicken was brought into the conversation, all bets were off.
In the July 28 TikTok clip, which turned out to be a joke, Enzo sat in his new castle, looking out the window to his kingdom. He glanced down and spotted his owner. They made eye contact, which was enough to tell her that he picked a new home. The caption reads: "The betrayal."
Enzo stared through the window at his owner, mocking her as he found a better home. He didn't care that he was found cheating on her. The cat did it for the chicken, and he would do it again.
Newsweek reached out to @enzothebsh via TikTok for additional information.
In comments on other videos, the owner said that Enzo never actually went to another home; he never even left. The video made fun of how easily cats will give up their own homes for a neighbor's house, which made owners feel especially attached to this TikTok clip.
This isn't the first time someone's cat revealed that they had a second family, and it certainly won't be the last.
"If ur cat is allowed outside...just know that they do have another family on the side lol [laugh out loud]," posted a viewer.
Someone wrote from the cat's perspective: "Cat said: 'Don't make this awkward.'"
Others shared how their felines traded their homes for another property's greener grass. One person commented: "My dad started feeding our cat cheaper cat food during the pandemic and then our cat moved out."
Another added: "I discovered my 'stray' 'yard' cat Jessie, who I've fed and snugged up for 15 yrs, really lives in a house down the street from me..for 15 yrs. He's been having a cat affair with me."
