Woman Reluctant to Keep Rescue Kitten Due to Pit Bull—They Have Other Plans

A dog owner from Florida was worried about taking home a tiny kitten she found in a bush, scared her pit bull may hurt her, but the pup had different things in mind.

In a post shared on TikTok on Monday by @macyfit, the poster's dog and her new kitten can be seen pictured in a series of clips playing and chilling together, as if size and species didn't matter to them at all. Their days include a lot of cuddling, too.

"POV: you found a kitten you didn't know whether or not to keep because of your pit bull..." a caption says, followed by: "Literally made for each other."

In the comments, she explained that her pup is a rescue who only had a week left in the shelter before being sent to be euthanized. Now, she and the kitten have a safe home where they sleep and play together every day.

The video quickly went viral on TikTok. It has received over 1.1 million views and 280,200 likes on the platform so far.

One user, Evietoledo___, commented: "Watch the Disney/ Pixar short 'kitbull' my cat and pit bull love each other so much and this short reminds me of them since he came from a trash can and my pit is rescued."

"Both beautiful, clearly love each other but most importantly have now got a loving safe home," TikToker Mats wrote.

"And this here shows with the correct training & owner ALL pits/bullies etc are absolutely safe..same goes for any dog. Beautiful," Daddyunicorn commented.

Despite being historically portrayed as mortal enemies, dogs and cats can actually be best friends as long as they're introduced correctly.

A study carried out by Italian scientists, published in 2020 in the journal PLOS ONE surveyed 1,270 pet owners who own both a cat and a dog and found that the two can easily cohabit without much conflict.

Findings from the study showed that over 64 percent of the cats and dogs living together also played together, 58 percent chased each other and 41 percent fought. Almost two-thirds of the pets sometimes playfully "ambushed" each other.
