Watch How Golden Retriever Reacts to Owner's Return After a Month Away
An epic reunion captured on camera when a couple traveling for the last month finally returned home to their dog has melted hearts.
TikTok user @missmolliezaharis and her husband returned home to Australia after a monthlong traveling adventure. As much as they, and every pet parent, would want to bring their dogs along for the trip, it usually isn't in the cards.
Traveling by air with a dog comes with restrictions, detailed preparations and a hefty price tag. This, unfortunately, leads to owners going on trips without their pets, but pets are left in good hands between doggy day cares, friends, family or sitters. And all that stress of being apart is instantly wiped away when you are reunited.
In her May 31 TikTok video, the couple sat on the ground ready to embrace their golden retriever. The dog couldn't contain himself when he realized who was waiting at home for him. He couldn't wag his tail fast enough, with whines letting out his happiness. The initial greeting lasted about 15 minutes, the owner said.
To say he was excited they were home would be an understatement. The dog couldn't sit still, moving back and forth between his humans before toppling over his mom. She didn't mind. It was all in the name of love.
The endless jumping was his version of saying hello and after a month apart, there were plenty of hellos he needed to say. But hopefully, that big of a greeting won't be needed again as the owner promised viewers in the comment section of the clip that she would never leave her baby like this again.
Newsweek reached out to @missmolliezaharis via email for additional information.
'Mama's Boy'
The precious TikTok video reached more than 217,000 views, almost 20,000 likes, and 140 comments as of Friday.
"A dog's love is like no other. We are their entire world," commented one TikTok user.
While this dog was excited to see them both, viewers pointed out there was an obvious favorite: "He's clearly a mama's boy."
Another added: "There is always one that is the primary person, think we know who that is. Same in our house."
However, the owner told viewers that the dog's love was spread out over time. Her comment reads: "He cuddled his dad all night long, I just got lucky in the initial greeting."
