Woman Sightseeing on Vacation Gets Distracted by Kittens 'Causing Chaos'

A woman exploring the sights and sounds of Lithuania got distracted from the usual tourist hotspots when she stopped to record two kittens fighting in a window.

Milda, 31 and living in London, is Lithuanian and recently brought her boyfriend to see her home country for the first time.

But while in the capital city of Vilnius, amid the cathedrals, towers and museums, there was another highlight to the trip, as Milda noticed a small white kitten in the window.

"We were meant to be looking at cultural bits and then go to lunch, but I just had to stop and film them [and] watch them," Milda told Newsweek. "I almost fostered some kittens recently, so was feeling very broody for kittens, so it was amazing timing."

And the white kitten wasn't alone, as a video to Milda's TikTok account, @pepperthenaughtytabby, showed an unseen cat jumping against the closed curtain, playfully attacking the white cat and pushing it against the window.

In the clip, the white kitten first appears to be sunning itself in the window, before claws start coming in from behind. As the hidden kit repeatedly jumps against the curtain, the white cat is bumped around the windowsill, looking shocked with its mouth gaping open.

Milda, meanwhile can be heard laughing at the pair, and saying: "I'm dead. We're not going, sorry!"

She told Newsweek: "My boyfriend wanted to get food, and I was like, 'Nope, sorry, priorities,'" adding she "absolutely died with happiness" to catch the adorable moment on camera.

In a caption on her video, she wrote: "Spotted this cutie on holiday, and a really naughty kitten behind the curtain causing chaos."

It proved hugely popular on TikTok, with over 10,500 likes and 63,000 views, as one commenter pointed out "the screaming."

"I called for help, TWICE," another joked, while one couldn't get over the kitten's "little toe beans".

TikTok users went wild for the clip, with many pointing out the kitten's "toe beans." Animal lover Milda has two cats of her own and regularly shares clips of them online. Milda has two cats of her own, one rescued from the street with the help of a local rescue, as there are "problems with lots of stray cats in the area," and highlighted the need to spay and neuter pets, as well as the importance of adopting rather than buying from a breeder.

In the United States, where some shelters still use euthanasia, the number of shelter animals euthanized each year has dropped drastically, partly thanks to the rise in people adopting from shelters rather than breeders.

In 2011, the number of cats and dogs euthanized in shelters across the U.S. was around 2.6 million, but is now believed to be around 920,000, according to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Her cats have quirks of their own, with one having a love for broccoli, even choosing it over delicacies such as steak or chicken when stealing from Milda's plate, with video proof shared to her TikTok account.

As for her video of the kittens in Vilnius going viral, Milda, who also shares content on renovation and interiors to her other account @mildathebuilda, said all her cat videos "seem to do well compared to my other TikTok account".

And, she admitted, she was "not at all surprised, since they're so cute!"
