Woman Gets Call From Neighbor for Most Unexpected Reason: 'So Embarrassed'

One cat has been caught red-pawed after breaking into a neighbor's house to take a nap.

Cat owner Hilary Anne was alerted to her cat's antics when the neighbor got in touch to let her know that her 9-year-old cat, Bob, was hanging out in their home, giving everyone involved a laugh.

"Bob broke into my neighbor's house and slept on their bed. I got this picture with a message asking [me] to come pick him up," Anne shared on Facebook, along with a photo of Bob lounging comfortably on the neighbor's pristine bedspread.

But this wasn't the first time Bob had paid an unexpected visit to the neighbor, either.

"About six months ago, he started showing up in their backyard multiple times and had to be ushered back to my side of the fence," Anne told Newsweek. "We live near the beach and they leave their back door open to get the beach breeze."

When she got the call that Bob was kicking back on their bedspread, she couldn't help but laugh through the slight embarrassment.

"I was so embarrassed that he was on their bed. They are very neat people who love both my cats but especially Bob. I shared because I thought it was funny. He is a funny boy," she said.

Thankfully the neighbors weren't upset about the intrusion, and the post on Facebook about Bob's antics quickly gained attention and prompted amused comments from fellow cat owners.

"The bed is always softer on the other side of the fence..." said Birgittta.

While Jo wrote: "What I love about this is the good natured way your neighbors handle it. Obviously lovely people with a great sense of humor."

Others shared their own tales of similar cat antics: "I woke up with the neighbor's cat in my bed with me once," said Serena.

Ash commented: "I used to work at a psychiatric hospital that had a lobby/office cat. The story was he was once owned by a family a few blocks away, but one day decided to make the hospital his home."

This is far from the first time a cat has been caught heading into someone else's home. Earlier this week Ema, who lives in England, shared how a nearby cat has been entering her house thanks to the sloped roof and skylight.

Earlier this year another woman shared the secret life of her neighbor's cat who she said spends "95 percent of the time. Like 23 hours a day" in her apartment.
