Man Proposes To Fiance's Dog After Engagement, They're 'a Packaged Deal'

A man very much in love with his girlfriend has melted viewers' hearts all over social media after proposing not only to her, but also to her pup.

In the heartwarming clip, shared on TikTok on Sunday, under the username @thebasicflower, the poster's fiance can be seen kneeling before the woman's cavalier King Charles spaniel, "proposing" with a hand-sized stuffed toy ring, which she clearly loved.

Judging from the pup's reaction, jumping up and down on her almost-official daddy, she definitely said yes. Don't worry; the poster said the same, too, and she can be seen wearing her own diamond engagement ring at the end of the clip.

"Pov {point of view]: your fiance proposed to your dog after you said yes because he knows you're a package deal," reads text on the clip, followed by a caption that adds: "We said yes!"

While the poster's fiance went above and beyond to propose to his woman, an increasing number of Americans are opting against marriage.

Data shared by Pew Research Center shows that, among all adults aged 18 to 34, only about 20 percent say that being married is extremely or very important for people to live a fulfilling life, and 22 percent say having children is extremely or very important.

Instead, around 68 percent of American adults in the same age group say the same about having a job or career they enjoy; and 62 percent say this about having close friends, with no major gender differences in how they see the importance of getting married or having children.

The study found that most young adults don't feel pressure from their parents to get married, like people used to in older generations.

"Among those who've never been married, 73 percent say they don't feel much or any pressure from their parents to do so. Another 15 percent say they feel some pressure, and 12 percent say they feel a great deal or a fair amount of pressure."
