Cat Who 'Runs This Household' Decides to Put Owner in Place After Prank
A cat's reaction to her owner talking on the phone has left the internet in stitches.
Owner Danielle wanted to play a harmless prank on her Siamese cat, Beans. She decided to "call" a few people while Beans listened in the August 12 Instagram video, which was posted to the account @parkourcatbean.
The first call was to the vet and how Beans wanted an appointment for the following day. Then it was to the groomer, where Danielle mentioned shaving off all her fur. She "talked" to others about how Beans loved her new hat or that the cat didn't want more treats. It was, of course, all lies. But Beans didn't see it that way.
Danielle mentioned in the video caption that Beans "runs the household," which is why the cat did not hesitate to express her feelings about the calls. The cat listened closely to make sure what she heard was actually coming out of her owner's mouth and then BOOM, she'd pounce in opposition.
Beans went straight for the phone when she jumped toward her owner. Danielle screamed and laughed simultaneously as she got knocked down on the bed. She knew the prank would ruffle some feathers with Beans, but the surprise jump-attack still caught her off guard.
Beans clearly understood what her owner was saying and wanted to set the record straight. She did not want to go in for a vet appointment. There was no way she would let a groomer shave off her luscious locks. And broccoli over chicken for Beans? In Danielle's dreams.
The owner finally accepted defeat after being attacked one too many times. She waved the white flag and apologized a million times at the end of the clip. She was done and didn't want Beans coming after her anymore.
With more than 5.6 million views and 551,337 likes, people flooded the comment section with their reactions.
"Bean finna mess you up," commented one user, while someone wrote from Beans' perspective: "What are you telling them?! Don't speak for me!!"
Another added: "Proof that animals DO UNDERSTAND US HAHA."
Others are calling Beans' actions "attempted murder," but some are defending her and saying it was self-defense.
Newsweek reached out to Danielle via email for additional comment.
