Woman Hires Out Field for Dog To Run Freely, but Plan Backfires Hilariously
A woman who hired out a private field for her rescue dog to roam around soon found her plans scuppered in an all too predictable fashion.
In a video posted to TikTok under the handle @lovebeyourenergy, Louise, a dog owner based in Liverpool in the U.K. shows what happened when she treated her Staffordshire Bull Terrier Faith to a little glimpse of the great outdoors.
Faith is one of three rescue dogs in Louise's care and her family have made a habit of taking them out to a specially rented field away from the city to stretch their legs and get some much needed zoomies in.

Unfortunately on this occasion, Faith is in no mood to run, walk or even zoom as the video shows. However, it would appear Louise knows exactly why that is the case.
"When it's raining at the private hire field and you have a staffy," Louise wrote alongside the clip, which provides a snapshot of the overcast space before the camera pans over to Faith sitting inside a wooden shelter looking unhappy at her surroundings. "She's not having it," Louise joked in a caption accompanying the video.
While it's clear that Faith is no fan of the rain, the rescue pup, who has been with Louise for 11 years, might have other reasons for being apprehensive about going out.

For example, dogs have been known to express fear and anxiety about being outside when they think thunder and lightning is on the way.
A 2005 study published in the journal Applied Animal Behaviour Science saw scientists monitor salivary cortisol levels among dogs exposed to simulated thunderstorms.

Regarded as a biomarker for endocrinological stress response, the researchers witnessed a 207 percent increase in salivary cortisol levels among the dogs exposed to simulated thunderstorm sounds.
As a rescue dog, it's entirely conceivable that Faith's aversion to bad weather stems from some formative experience in her puppy years. Several TikTok users watching on social media thought it was down to the fact Faith is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier.
"My staffie absolutely loves swimming - he's in and out of the lake," one said. "The SECOND is rains - he runs for cover."
A second commented: "staffies look big and tough, but really they're just sensitive wee babies."
A third wrote: "My staffie won't even go out for a wee if it's raining! He will hold on as long as possible" with a fourth adding: "mines the same will go straight in the sea, river, lake, puddle but wont go out in the rain."
