Dog Banned From Family BBQ Looks on With 'Evidence' Still in His Mouth

A giant Rottweiler dog was given a "timeout" after he caused chaos at his owner's barbecue.

Rocco the Rottweiler lives in Essex, England, with his owner Jess, 29, who regularly shares moments of their lives together on his Instagram account, @rocco_the_rottweiler_.

Weighing 123 pounds, Rocco is far from a small dog but still has plenty of puppy traits, including a love for, of all things, kitchen paper.

"Rocco's always had a thing for tissues since he was a puppy!" Jess told Newsweek. "He'll just hold them in his mouth, sometimes shredding them so I have to pick up all the little bits."

So, when Jess hosted a barbeque for her family, it wasn't stealing food from the table they had to worry about, but Rocco stealing everyone's tissues.

"He wouldn't stop pinching the kitchen roll off the table [and] would run around showing it off," Jess said.

"As a 56kg rottie, he's a bulldozer, so when he gets overexcited and runs around, he knocks everything and everyone over," she laughed, adding that he "wasn't interested" in trading his kitchen paper for food.

A video to Rocco's account has gone viral as it shows the aftermath of his chaotic adventures at the meal. Shared in August, it boasts more than 500,000 views and 16,000 likes.

It shows the dog sitting in the kitchen, staring out the glass patio door at all the commotion outside, with several sheets of kitchen paper in his mouth, still refusing to drop it.

Another dog wags his tail as he looks in at Rocco from the garden, and Rocco, too, appears to be in a good mood—and positively smiles when someone approaches the door as if to let him out.

Jess wrote over the video: "When you've been put on a time out in the kitchen for continuously stealing kitchen roll during a nice family BBQ."

Instagram users loved the clip, with hundreds commenting on the Rottweiler's video, one laughing he was "still holding the evidence."

"Socks, pillows and paper towels are lit," another said, and one shared: "Mine pinches paper out the bin and steals toilet rolls when she can."

And one animal lover insisted: "He should get a big juicy steak to put that paper towel roll to use."

Businesswoman Jess, who owns ROCCA Aesthetics, took Rocco into her family two years ago, after the death of her previous Rottweiler, Roma, and calls him her "true soul dog" who has been with her through everything.

Rottweilers are known for being confident, courageous dogs, and are described as world-class guardians by the American Kennel Club (AKC). But despite their guardian nature, they are also playful, and even silly, when around their owners, the organization says.

Speaking lovingly about her pup, Jess said he is "currently sitting with his head on my lap with my socks hanging out his mouth because he wants me to play tug of war with them but won't ever let me grab them.

"He has an outstanding judgmental side eye and loves to look me up and down full of disappointment," she said, adding that he is "glued to my side" at all times—except for when he's off making mischief, like stealing plants from neighbor's gardens.

"He's got a reputation around our neighborhood as 'The Plant Thief,'" she said. "There would be random plants lying around the estate and people knew who was to blame."

Proud owner Jess loves that Rocco's Instagram video has gone viral, saying she is "glad he makes people smile [and] laugh as much as he does us."
