Owner Convinced They Got the 'Wrong Dog' Back After Butchered Groom

One owner believed they didn't receive the same dog back after a butchered grooming appointment.

TikTok user @biscuitbiewerboy took to the social media platform earlier this month and shared the before-and-after results of Biscuit's, a Biewer terrier, haircut, venting their frustrations. The owner wrote in the video's comments section that they asked for "short on the back" but to keep the dog's head "fluffy" and "clean around the eyes."

Technically, the groomer did listen about keeping the dog's fur short on his back, but it wasn't what the owner envisioned. It looked like Biscuit's fur was shaved down completely, revealing a more slender body. Meanwhile, he still had fluffy bits on his legs.

The haircut made it look like Biscuit lost a few pounds while his eyes and ears seemed to have grown. It made the owner question whether or not they received the "wrong dog."

To them, Biscuit returned looking like "some cross of a pincher," however, the dog's floppy ears gave it away that it was the same dog.

"I was so lost for words that unfortunately I paid and got the hell out of there. Definitely will be trying a different groomer," @biscuitbiewerboy wrote in a comment.

The owner also added that the groomer defended the decision to trim more than requested, stating "his head short like this he looks much more proportional."

Newsweek reached out to @biscuitbiewerboy via TikTok for additional information.

TikTok Users React

The video of Biscuit's new haircut has gained over 31,000 views so far, with TikTok users being stunned by the grooming result, with some calling it a "butcher job."

"Did he do it with a knife and fork," asked one user.

Another wrote: "Oh bless. On the upside, he'll not need a haircut for a while."

A third posted: "Still totally adorable though."

A professional groomer chimed in and commented: "I'm a groomer and that cut is awful."

Grooming Biewer Terriers

As a relatively new dog breed, the American Kennel Club (AKC) officially recognized Biewer terriers in 2021. These small dogs are descendants of Yorkshire terriers. And if you know anything about Yorkies, attention to detail and grooming matters.

The Biewer terrier is a single-coated breed with grooming that can be kept up at home. The Spruce Pets reported earlier this year that these dogs should be brushed daily to prevent mats or tangles if owners keep their hair long. However, some pet parents want to keep their dog's fur short, which means less brushing but more frequent haircuts.
